We are honored to serve as the School Counselors at McGown Elementary! We are committed to supporting your child's social, emotional, and academic development throughout their time here. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for your child's success, and we are here to be an integral part of that partnership.

The role of a school counselor is multifaceted, and our primary goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where your child can thrive. Here are some ways in which we can assist your child:

Classroom Guidance: We follow the state required Health TEKS to deliver classroom lessons on important topics like conflict resolution, managing emotions, and goal setting, equipping your child with valuable tools for success.
Group Counseling: We facilitate various group counseling sessions on topics such as self-esteem, friendship, and family changes (divorce/illness/grief), fostering a sense of belonging and emotional growth among students.
Individual Counseling: As school counselors, we can offer short term, solution focused counseling to individual students to help them develop essential life skills and coping strategies.
Parent Support: We are here to provide guidance and resources to parents, offering insights into how you can support your child's educational and emotional needs.
